The Sixth Tool Program.
A complete off-season and preseason system combining strength, speed, power, mobility, arm care, conditioning, nutrition and baseball/softball specific work.
Progressive Training From August To Preseason
Phase 1 • Hypertrophy
Build lean mass, strength, flexibility, conditioning and nutritional habits while establishing a durable foundation.
Phase 2 • Strength
Build on Phase 1 with more specialized strength and power development, shoulder work and anaerobic conditioning.
Phase 3 • Power
Translate the foundation into speed, rotational power, ground-based agility, throwing/hitting support and preseason conditioning.
August Through Early February
The Sixth Tool Program is designed to begin at the start of August and progress through the first week of February, complementing the fall and winter baseball/softball calendar and building toward school-ball tryouts.
Phase 1 • Early Off-Season
Hypertrophy • August–September
Athletes establish the physical foundation for the entire program. Training focuses on lean muscle development, basic strength, flexibility, work capacity and conditioning.
Primary goals: increased lean body mass, increased strength, improved shoulder flexibility and improved cardiovascular conditioning.
Phase 2 • Off-Season
Strength • October–November
Phase 2 builds on the foundation created during the early off-season. Training becomes more specialized for baseball and softball, with greater emphasis on strength, power and sport-specific movement patterns and velocities.
Primary goals: continued lean-mass development, improved rate of force development, stronger and more flexible shoulders/rotator cuff, and improved baseball/softball conditioning.
Phase 3 • Pre-Season
Power • December–Early February
The final phase translates the strength foundation into baseball- and softball-specific speed, power, movement and throwing/hitting preparation.
Primary goals: improved running speed and sprint mechanics, increased throwing and hitting velocity, improved anaerobic capacity, and improved shoulder strength and flexibility.
10+ Years Of Measured Results.
From 2011–2026, Carolina Acceleration has tracked athlete progress through pre- and post-training testing. Here is what more than a decade of training has produced across speed, strength, body composition, hitting and throwing.

Results shown are averages from available pre- and post-training records from 2011–2026. Individual results vary.
One Development System.
Families do not have to piece together separate lifting, speed, arm-care, nutrition and baseball-specific work. The athlete follows one organized progression with coaches who understand the demands of the game.
